Sacred Foundation
Sri Siddheswari Peetham was established in 1936 at Courtallam, in the Tirunelveli district of Tamil Nadu, by H.H Sri Siva Chidananda Saraswathi Swamiji, revered as Sri Mouna Swamy.
Born as Pitchaiah in 1868, he embraced the path of renunciation in December 1906, receiving sanyasaashrama from Sri Atchuthananda Saraswathi. His profound vow of silence earned him the name "Mouna Swamy."
The ashram was built on January 17, 1914, and the sacred idol of Sri Siddheswari Devi (Raja Rajeswari Devi) was installed on October 3, 1916, marking the beginning of this divine sanctuary.
